About Me

Ranjana Dhillon

Hi! I am Ranjana Dhillon. I am a student in the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) of Vancouver Community College. Presently, I am working as an Editor for a provincial magazine- Canada Tabloid besides working in the administrative department of a local company. Prior to this, I was an Assistant Professor in Education (Teaching of English) in India. After completing my M.A(English), B.Ed. and M.Ed(Educational Technology) from Panjab University Chandigarh, India; I cleared UGC/NET exam and qualified for Lectureship in Teacher Education colleges. While working as a Teacher Educator, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment of gaining new insights into the field of education. This motivated me further to complete my PhD degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh in which I focused upon English language proficiency of college students. My  passion to explore novel ideas in education inspired me to participate actively in Continuous Professional Development Programs such as Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Webinars.

I moved to Canada in July 2014. Through my career consultant in Skills Connect program, I realized that Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) offered by Vancouver Community College will be the vital bridging program between my Indian academic credentials and Canadian education system. I have completed six courses of PIDP and Instructional Strategies is my seventh course in the row. I feel enlightened every day on exploring new horizons in the field of education and intend to gain a lot from this beneficial course in spite of the initial pressures of settlement in a new country which are presently posing me a great challenge in achieving my academic endeavors. But I do hope that I will be able to reap the benefits of this academic program to my best possible ability to restart my career as an adult educator!
